PayID Disclosure
How Snapcash uses PayID on the New Payments Platform to send your cashback, what to check before you cash out, and how mistaken or fraudulent payments are handled.
Last updated: 30 March 2026
1. What this disclosure covers
This disclosure is provided by Snap Cash Pty Ltd (ABN 38 680 105 917, ACN 680 105 917) ("Snapcash", "we", "us"). It explains how we use PayID to pay cashback rewards to users of the Snapcash Service, and should be read together with our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
2. What PayID is
PayID is an addressing service on the New Payments Platform (NPP), operated by NPP Australia Limited. It lets payments be addressed to an easy identifier, typically your mobile number or email address, instead of a BSB and account number. PayIDs are registered by banks and other financial institutions with their customers.
Snapcash does not operate PayID or the NPP. Your PayID is issued and managed by your own financial institution, subject to its terms.
3. How Snapcash uses PayID
When you cash out an available wallet balance, we send an NPP payment (via Osko) to the PayID you have registered in the Snapcash app. The payment is funded from Snap Cash Pty Ltd and will appear in your bank account with an accompanying reference.
We only send payments to a PayID in your own name. We do not accept PayID as a method for you to pay us, and we will never ask you to send money to a PayID to "unlock" or "release" cashback.
4. Before you cash out: check your details
- Confirm the mobile number or email you enter matches the PayID registered with your bank exactly.
- Use the PayID name-display feature where available: when paying someone via PayID, your bank shows the registered PayID name. Snapcash payouts will come from us; if you ever receive a payment request claiming to be Snapcash, it is not us.
- Keep your PayID registration active. If you deregister or change your PayID, update it in the app before requesting a cashout.
5. Timing and availability
NPP payments are usually delivered near real-time, 24/7. However, your financial institution may hold or delay a payment, particularly a first payment from a new payer, for up to 24 hours or longer for security screening. Snapcash may also run fraud and verification checks before releasing a cashout. We are not liable for delays caused by the NPP, PayID network outages, or your financial institution.
6. Fees
Snapcash does not charge a fee for PayID cashouts. Your financial institution's own fees (if any) apply under your account terms. Most Australian banks do not charge to receive NPP payments.
7. Mistaken and misdirected payments
If you enter the wrong PayID, the payment may go to someone else's account and we may not be able to recover it. Check the details carefully before confirming. If a mistake happens, contact us immediately at team@snapcash.com.au and also notify your financial institution. Mistaken NPP payments are handled under the ePayments Code's mistaken internet payment process, and recovery depends on how quickly the error is reported and whether the funds remain in the recipient's account. We will reasonably cooperate with recovery efforts but cannot guarantee recovery.
8. Fraud and security warnings
- Snapcash will never ask for your online banking password, PIN, card CVV or one-time codes.
- We will never ask you to move money, pay a "verification fee", or pay anyone via PayID to receive cashback.
- Beware of impersonation: check that in-app payout confirmations and emails genuinely come from Snapcash before acting on them.
- If you suspect fraud or an unauthorised cashout, contact us at team@snapcash.com.au and your financial institution immediately.
9. Privacy
To send your cashout, your PayID identifier is disclosed to the NPP addressing service and the payment networks involved. Your PayID details and payout history are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this disclosure from time to time; the current version will always be available in the app and on our website.
